Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Groups
We welcome Duke of Edinburgh’s Award groups, school groups and mountain biking groups at Erwbarfe and enjoy welcoming back many of the same schools and colleges year after year. Our quiet, family run park is ideally placed for Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award groups looking to explore the hills, valleys and stunning, remote scenery of Mid Wales and the Cambrian mountains. The immediate area features the Pumlumon hills, the Elan Valley Estate lands, the Hafod and The Arch forestry recreation areas and Nant yr Arian Forestry Centre which includes an orienteering course and a vast area to explore.
We offer discounts for school, youth and DofE groups and have a specific grassed area which is fenced and separate from the main touring field – ideal for group usage. It has it’s own water taps and hard standing for parking of minibuses and cars.
We are one of the approved expedition sites for the Mid Wales Wild Country Network, as well as being a suitable base camp for leaders and have been used regularly for this reason in the past.
We are also the chosen base camp for Expeditions Wales, a highly respected Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and have welcomed over 50 groups in the past year, as well as being the base camp of choice for a growing number of groups. Leaders are welcome to visit the park prior to usage.
